Hello beautiful members of IEA!
UHP will be holding its first Diabetic Clinic for the term next Saturday, October 10, and we are in need of some lovely volunteers to help out! This clinic holds tremendous value in the community — diabetes has a large prevalence in Grenada, but most patients are unable to manage their disease properly due to a lack of access to care. As such, the clinic serves as a source of primary care for many of these patients. You will have the opportunity to experience patient encounters where many of them will view and treat you as their doctors.
We will be taking their medical history and providing the community with blood sugar checks, blood pressure checks, and free foot checks/consultations with our volunteer physicians. Professional attire including white coat are required. Please also bring a stethoscope and BP cuff.
Volunteering at the Diabetes clinic will fulfill ALL 4 of your required hours for the term, including BOTH social and academic hours. Pickup will be at 8:30 AM in front of Charter Hall, and will return around 12:30 PM.
The link to sign up is below. Unfortunately, our space is limited to the first 25 volunteers, so sign up quick!
