Venue: Grand Anse Beach in front of Umbrellas

Like other Caribbean countries many National Grenadians, children and adults, cannot swim (estimated at over 90%) resulting in unfortunate drownings. National Learn to Swim Week (NLTSW) is an initiative to provide free swim lessons to children and adults throughout Grenada. The pilot program launched over Easter of 2015 and welcomed over 500 new swimmers (100 of them adults) at 11 different beaches and pools. Come join us!

Get Grenada Swimming continues the program with weekly sessions on Grand Anse beach. We meet Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

You do not have to be a great swimmer to be a GGS Volunteer. As long as you are comfortable in the water, it will only take a little time for us to train you how to work with the children (and adults!). They need to be able to blow bubbles underwater, float on their bellies and backs, kick with a noodle, simple stuff like that. Training will occur during your first shift.
